Timeline
June 20, 2018: The process kicked off at the June 20, 2018 Planning Commission meeting. The Commissioners reviewed and approved the draft Public Participation Plan. The final document can be downloaded below.
September 5, 2018: The Planning Commission met to review a draft of the revisions to the SMP policies and regulations in accordance with the Dept. of Ecology Periodic Update Checklist. The Commission was informed that the revisions to the Town’s SMP are very minor to conform to the legislative changes that occurred since adoption of the Town’s 2013 SMP. The more extensive revisions however, will be to the Town’s Critical Area Regulations (CAR) relating to wetlands. Staff presented the Commission with an initial draft of the wetland revisions and stated that a complete draft would be submitted at the November 7 meeting.
November 7, 2018: The Planning Commission reviewed the updated draft of the Town’s SMP. Hall. The Periodic Update Checklist and revisions to the SMP and CAR can be downloaded below.
January 2, 2019: At 7 p.m., the Planning Commission will hold a joint public hearing with the Washington State Department of Ecology to solicit public feedback on the revisions to the SMP and CAR. The public comment period and public hearing notice is posted below. The documents for the meeting will be posted to the calendar a few days before the meeting.Check back soon for the next step in the process.
